Jonathan S. Starr is has extensive experience in the areas of public finance, banking, real estate and government affairs. In his banking practice, Mr. Starr represents banks and credit unions in lending and collection matters, including real estate term lending, construction loans, lines of credit and participation agreements. Also, Mr. Starr has experience representing lenders in forbearance, foreclosure and forfeiture proceedings.
In his real estate practice, Mr. Starr represents developers in the acquisition, development and financing of their projects. Mr. Starr is currently general counsel to one of the largest developers of multifamily housing in Texas. Mr. Starr has experience drafting and structuring purchase contracts, development agreements, construction contracts and leases. Mr. Starr has experience working with developers and municipalities in negotiating zoning and related land use agreements.
In his governmental affairs practice, Mr. Starr represents companies at the local and state levels seeking to improve their position. Mr. Starr’s experience includes project procurement and policy advocacy.

Community Involvement
Mr. Starr serves in a leadership role of many civic organizations. Currently, he is second vice president of the Board of Directors of Congregation Rodfei Sholom. In addition, Mr. Starr previously served as a member of the North Chamber of Commerce’s Governmental Affairs Committee. Mr. Starr presently serves on the Local Advisory Board of BBVA Compass Bank.
