An attorney in the firm’s Business & Corporate Transactions Group and Water & Environmental Group, Jennifer Windscheffel’s areas of strength include corporate formation and dissolution, mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions. She also provides legal counsel on matters involving groundwater, CCN and general environmental issues.
Ms. Windscheffel has represented business clients in all aspects of forming new business entities and partnership arrangements, including negotiation of partnership, shareholder and all forms of corporate agreements. She advises clients in new business ventures and assists them in legal documentation of complex ownership arrangements and contract negotiations.
Ms. Windscheffel also works closely with some of the foremost healthcare and skilled nursing care providers in the state in all their business transactions, including developing and implementing complex corporate structures, assisting in securing HUD and other financing, and specialized commercial contract negotiations.
Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Ms. Windscheffel served seven years as the Chief Committee Clerk for the House Committee on Natural Resources in the Texas Legislature, during the passage of landmark water legislation SB 1 and SB 2. Ms. Windscheffel has since represented some of the largest landowners in the state in groundwater disputes and water policy matters, as well as advising clients regarding permitting matters with the TCEQ and the EAA. Ms. Windscheffel has also advised clients (including landowners and municipalities) in CCN; development matters; and matters involving special purpose districts, including MUDs and groundwater conservation districts.
An active participant in her community, she is active in her church and in her children’s school activities.
